What could have caused a seizure after your first Sublocade shot?

That sounds really scary, and I'm sorry you went through that. While seizures aren't a commonly reported side effect of Sublocade (buprenorphine injection), several factors could potentially contribute to this reaction.

It's important to know that Sublocade is a long-acting buprenorphine injection given monthly to help manage opioid use disorder. The medication releases slowly over time to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Possible factors that might be related include:
- Individual medication sensitivity or allergic reactions
- Interactions with other medications you may be taking
- Underlying health conditions
- The timing of when you stopped using other opioids before starting Sublocade
- Other substances in your system

This is definitely something you need to discuss with your healthcare provider right away if you haven't already. They can review your complete medical history, any other medications you're taking, and determine what might have triggered the seizure. They may need to adjust your treatment plan or explore alternative options for managing your recovery.

Have you been able to follow up with your doctor about this reaction?

Yes they diagnosed me with severe epilepsy. I have a lesion on both sides of the back of my brain with the one on the left side being twice the size of the other.
