I only use a light dosage of methadone for my legs. It started as 5mg 3x a day. I normally take only 2x to stop my pain. Two 5mg tablets that I have cut to 2.5mg at 3 pm then at 11 pm, my bedtime, I take my final dose of 3.75mg. About how much should I cut and at which hours for my next reduction scheduled for Oct 1st?
I function fine except for the insomnia which will make functioning not so good in the very near future. I am so restless in bed that I can’t even have sheets or a blanket touch my skin. It drives met nuts. 🙁
Hello Gail!
You are not alone! Honest!
Ill briefly share with you my history on opioids, which started in 2016, but long before that, Im 61, I was a ballet dancer, and at the age of 21 I had a car accident, where I had a broken neck vertebrae, brain injury and at that time, I was very young, full of dreams, but i had a sequel after the neck surgery, as I had ( and here I ask you to be a little patient as my native language is not English, its Portuguese, and even though Im fluent and even teach English as a foreign language, when I get too emotional I tend to " forget" momentarily some vocabulary to describe accurately everything that happens and hapoened to me!
Well, I started taking amphetamines very young, then moved to oxycodone many years later, and finally, got addicted to morphine due to the lowerback pain, hip and knee pain, so I know pain, Ive been living with chronic pain for decades and life is sad when we live in pain!
Well, I dont know how much space I have here, so ive been trying to connect with people who live in pain and use methadone.
Im a certified Psychologist, I have BPD and treat BPD patients that have no idea I also have BPD, as Im from Brazil and how much we are judged in this country for having any kind of mental disorder, but Im a fighter and will not give up trying to live a regular life, even though it sounds unimaginable because BPD is a cruel disorder, people have a lot of prejudice against it, so in my private life, I have no friends, im lucky to have my parents alive, though its a toxic relationship with my father mainly!
I still must work on lots of issues concerning my BPD life , you must understand that I cannot tell my patients that I also have BPD,but I truthfully tell you that today, most love that I get come from my patients, all female as men rarely if ever seek treatment for BPD!
I hope we can become friends, Im very affectionate, understanding and eager to help people here like us!
Have a great day tomorrow!!
May God bless you and in case you need me you can find me on Instagram ,Facebook etc, but im never sure of my own profile names there! Ill come back and give you my name on Instagram and Facebook, I dont use it much, but for a good reason Ill find my contact there and share with you!
Greetings from Brazil🇧🇷
