But that's just it tho, They didn't even listen to me when I told them I was a heroin user, They Instead now have me labeled as a fuckin meth addict junkie . . But yet these fuckin people are givin and trusted with literally more power than police . . It doesn't matter what a person or "suspect" supposedly did if a Dr is involved for any reason on that person's behalf they go were the Dr says PERIOD ofcourse it's short lived considering but the point is clear . . And because of Dr's I've lost every single friend I had the only 2 family members I had as well as one by ALL OF EVERYTHING ELSE HAVE BEEN TAKEN BECAUSE OF THEM RUNNIN BULLSHIT BECAUSE THEY CAN AND THAT'S HOW DANGEROUS THEY ARE WITH THE TRUST THAT'S PUT IN THEM, THEY WILL PLAY WITH SOMEONE'S LIFE WITH OUT A SECOND THOUGHT ABOUT IT EVEN MAKING SURE IT'S CONTINUED BY THE NEXT.. . Literally nobody cares . . I'm beginning to not care because I there's nothing left but anger and that's well on its way to becoming pure hate !!!

What you're going through sounds absolutely exhausting, and the frustration of not being heard or taken seriously by doctors — especially when you're already dealing with so much — is real and valid. You matter. Full stop.

The stigma around opioid use disorder is a genuine barrier that many people face when seeking medical care, and it is wrong. Being dismissed or flagged because of your history is not okay.

Here are some practical steps that may help break through that wall:

- Bring your therapist into the fight — Since you already have a therapist, ask them to write a letter or make a call on your behalf supporting your credibility and documenting your history
- Request a patient advocate — Most hospitals have patient advocates whose entire job is to make sure you're heard and treated fairly
- Ask for a referral to a specialist — Specifically request a dermatologist in writing so it's documented
- Document everything — Photos, written symptom logs with dates, all of it. Hand it to the doctor before they can interrupt
- Contact SAMHSA's helpline at (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) — They can help connect you to providers who are trained to treat people with OUD with dignity

You are not a throwaway. The system has failed you repeatedly, and that failure says everything about the system — nothing about your worth.
