Hi, what happens when you’re addicted to Suboxone? A doctor put me on it four years ago, I’m currently trying to get myself off of it by weening down the dose. The person prescribing it is NO HELP AT ALL! I took 2 pills a day until 3 months ago, down to one pill every day now and it’s rough!!! Any advice or any help would be greatly appreciated. @A MyOpioidRecoveryTeam Member that is so exciting to read. Slow and steady really did it. Rooting for you as you take that next step. Please do keep us posted!
SteveT, starting last week I went to one half tablet per day, have had NO PROBLEM so far and I think I’m gonna start next week taking NOTHING! Yes! I’ll let you know how it goes but I believe that I’ve worked my way down very slowly to a point where I feel like I am FREE OF THIS DRUG! Once and for all!!!! Feels great I must say, FREE! I can’t say it enough!!! FREE!!!❤️🙏
I believe you will be successful and hope you don't rush the process. Slow is the way.
It's unfortunately common for doctors to not give us the whole picture on suboxzone withdrawal, when they first prescribe it. Being told " some people just walk away from it" was the biggest lie told to me. I've yet to meet a person that did easily walk away. Good advice I did get, from a compassionate nurse practitioner, was to trim a tiny piece off the strips with a razor every few weeks or however long you can tolerate lowering. That helped me get down low.
